For the tapestry titled ‘Timber’ my inspiration came from wood works with reclaimed wood and the sometimes difficult structures of wooden floor patterns. I wanted to work with it not too literally, and give the work enough contrast and depth by using different colours that almost resemble several darker and lighter types of wood. I wanted to give the design both a raw or weathered appearance and a clear graphic style. Therefore I stylised the grain of the wood in a modern interplay of lines.
