The picture ‘Hanging Baskets” is made in one of the many old, abandoned coal mines that Germany is rich. Anita Secretly climbed in a Mine in the early morning, and immediately went looking for the hall with maybe 1,000 baskets. These baskets were used as a kind of lockers where miners hung their clothes on, after which they were hoisted up with iron chains. At the end of the day, it was immediately visible that everyone was safely above the ground. Sitting on the floor, looking upwards, I made room for myself, with the morning light shining through the baskets.
